Plateau one can come across. Yoga here requires an existing healthy body since the air is thin, hence only
recommended for fit people. The travel to Spiti valley can happen from Manali (Kullu) or from Shimla, public
transports and union run transports are available.

Yoga – A brief introduction:
Yoga is not merely a form of exercise for the body. It is an ancient wisdom for a healthier, happier, and more peaceful
way of living, which ultimately leads to union with the Self. Yoga is not just performing some acrobatic poses or huffing and puffing some Pranayama or “sleeping” your way through the so-called “meditation”. It is an integrated way of life in which awareness and consciousness must be cultivated systematically. In ancient India, Yoga was traditionally imparted in the Guru-Kula, in Ashrams, or in forest hermitages set in a natural environment and the lifestyle was perfectly in harmony with nature. The entire personality, character, attitudes, of the student, were observed by the Guru, in close personal contact who then subtly led the student step by step to higher Yogic modes of thought, feeling and action. This lifestyle was an integral part of their training and allowed the natural power of yoga to grow within them as part of their daily lives. However, Yoga’s connection with nature and its concern for the environment is easily
obscured, if not lost, in the modern yoga movement and its urban and commercial orientation. True Yoga works with
nature and is able to awaken the higher powers of nature within us.

Our Yoga Wellness Retreat aims to get your mind, body and spirit in rhythm with Existence. During this tour, you walk in
the Himalayas and camp at beautiful locations where you practice Yoga and meditation under the guidance of an
experienced Yoga teacher. Your body and mind are opened through Yoga, meditation and stretching. This
combination develops a more fulfilling physical exercise while strengthening and opening the mind for greater
relaxation and awareness. Gift yourself this Yoga Meditation tour to spend your holidays relaxing and healing your body, mind and spirit. Embark on sacred, powerful and healing journeys to the Himalayas for health, peace and happiness.

Type of Yoga: The Retreat will bring you the best of Hatha Yoga, along with monastic guided meditation. “Ha” means
Sun and “Tha” is Moon, “Hatha” signifies balance, Hatha Yoga believes in every Yogi living a balanced life between
living in “Samsara”, the society and living a conscious life while living in the society. Hatha Yoga comes from Raja
Yoga, like Ashtanga. We live in a world where we are bombarded with stimuli, stimuli that is available 24/7. It’s so
easy to end up not switching off at all – to end up with a mind that is constantly busy processing all the information
that’s thrown at it. Whether the information is good, valuable or rubbish, it doesn’t matter, the mind still needs to
deal with it. The mind gets used to that amount of information and starts to crave stimuli if it becomes quiet.
So we end up browsing, looking for stuff; it doesn’t matter what, as long as we fill the gaps. Gaps we really should
allow staying empty to find some sort of downtime – for the mind to stop and for you to just be.
